Local Fox 10 and the Mobile Press Register (AL.com) featured John Mason, of Westminster Village, who celebrated his 100th birthday with cheerleaders from his alma mater.
Mr. Mason played football, baseball, basketball, track, and softball at their high school more than 80 years ago. The cheerleaders presented him with a 1937 yearbook. Veterans from the American Legion also attended the event to honor the WWII veteran.
In the excitement, Mr. Mason jumped up and pretended to hike the football to reminisce his school days. As John told the TV reporter, he's 100 years young!
