Acts Retirement-Life Communities (Acts), one of the nation's largest not-for-profit senior living organizations, is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan B. Allmond as Chair of its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2025.
Ms. Allmond has been a dedicated member of the Acts Board since 2015, bringing nearly four decades of professional experience in healthcare to her Board service. Her career experience includes prior roles as a nurse specializing in orthopedics and rehabilitation and as a leader in healthcare operations and strategic performance.
Most recently, Ms. Allmond served as Director of Strategic Planning and Alignment at Catholic Health Initiatives in Exton, PA, before retiring. Her visionary leadership will be instrumental in guiding Acts to further advance its mission of providing pre eminent senior living with excellence and compassion.

Ms. Allmond succeeds John Esterhai, Jr., MD, who has served as Board Chair since 2017 and has been a vital member of the Acts Board since 1996. Under Dr. Esterhai's nearly three decades on the board, Acts has achieved significant growth and success, and is currently the 3rd largest nonprofit multi-site senior living organization in the nation according to the annual ranking by LeadingAge Ziegler 200. While stepping down as Chair, Dr. Esterhai will remain a member of the Acts Board.
