Magnolia Trace was featured last night on local Huntsville TV for its annual flag raising ceremony, a celebration of American veterans of the U.S. armed forces.
Local Fox-affiliate WZDX (Channel 54) broadcasted video footage of the community’s annual flag raising ceremony, which gathered more than 100 residents, and was an emotional remembrance of veterans who served their country proudly,
The flag raising program, which has been in place for several years, usually features participation from the local high school’s ROTC volunteers. This year, local Grissom High School’s ROTC Color Guard raised the flag outside of the Clubhouse, to the patriotic sounds from trumpeter Joe Bader. It kicked off a week full of Veteran's Day events, including patriotic sing-alongs, a historic guided tour, and more.
A large portion of Magnolia Trace’s nearly 200 total residents have ties to the service, with more than 80 currently-living Veterans living here.
The segment aired last night at 9:15pm, and you can watch it here on the station’s website, Rocket City Now.
