This week, Matthews Glen was featured in the Matthews Mint-Hill Weekly, with a heartfelt story on the Gold Tones resident choral group – started initially by two residents, lifelong musicians, who moved to Acts thinking their singing days were over, but soon learned they would be able to continue on – and did.
Last night, the Gold Tones gave their Spring “Broadway & Pops” Concert, singing hits from Phantom of the Opera, Porgy & Bess and more, with a mix of solos, duets and group numbers. Two residents, Stan and Gerry Schmitt, and group music director, Anne Kimball, were interviewed.
