Groups of residents inspire me with their commitment to walking every day. Other occupants who are not still or silent are the squirrels. They chase each other and won’t let the birds alone. I am rooting for the birds—there are so many beautiful varieties here— in what feels like an empty-stadium experience.
Changes are happening all around me. I am living in the slow, move-to-the-right traffic lane. I climb hilly roads with detours and roadblocks and am growing to appreciate the beauty of taking the slow lane, with silence and stillness all round me.
